Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT):
CBT is a practical, short-term form of psychological therapy. It helps people develop skills and strategies to become and stay healthy. Through CBT, clients learn how to identify, question and challenge their thoughts, perceptions, feelings and behaviours in order to better manage their emotions, such as anxiety and depression.
Mindfulness Based Therapy (MBT):
MBT helps people learn to observe them without judgment. It can help people learn to quiet their minds, accept thoughts and feelings and overall manage distressing emotions. MBT includes breathing exercises and meditation techniques and can be very helpful for all forms of anxiety and mood issues.
Insight Oriented Therapy (IOT):
IOT helps people identify their emotions and discomforts by helping clients examine their inner beliefs and motivations. It incorporates brief reviews of one’s history in order to understand how our past influences how we behave in the present and to bring change going forward.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT):
ACT is a form of therapy that helps people approach and accept uncomfortable thoughts, feelings and behaviours to create positive outcomes. In a mindful and gentle manner, ACT helps people recognize and re-engage in goals that one may have been avoiding and focus one’s commitment to these goals and how to overcome any obstacles that may get in the way.
